Transfer of Equity

In life our circumstances sometimes change. Couples separate and jointly owned properties are transferred to one of the partners.

Before you do anything please contact our specialist matrimonial/family department as the consequences of transferring your property needs to be looked at in the context of your family and other financial circumstances.

Once you have considered this, our conveyancing team can lead you through the potential minefield of these “transfers of equity” liaising with the other partner or their solicitor, the mortgage lender and if necessary the courts and matrimonial lawyers.

Transfers of equity need to be dealt with speedily, professionally and sensitively and we at Thompson and Jackson have vast experience in doing just this.

Alternatively, you may be transferring a property for other reasons (for example to save tax) or adding a name to the deeds.

If you would like us to call you back please enter your details and one of our Solicitors will be in contact as soon as possible.
